Leading global equipment simulator supplier, Immersive Technologies, has been bestowed the 2014 Environmental Excellence Award by Mining Magazine for delivering significant fuel savings to their customers. Each year Mining Magazine celebrates excellence in the mining industry to companies that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to advancing the state of play in mining over the past 12 months.
During the last 18 months Immersive Technologies has developed both enhanced software functionality and training resources which has reduced fuel consumption of their customers by an average of 6.85%. Through this technology and support mine sites are able to address the challenges of rising fuel cost and environmental responsibility by optimizing equipment operator skills and knowledge. On-site per ton greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced via simulation based training of operators for optimal fuel performance along with allowing management to accurately identify, quantify and manage operator behaviors which are detrimental to fuel consumption.
