Barminco Limited has boosted training capacity and reinforced its approach to safety with the purchase of a UG360 Advanced Equipment Simulator from the mining industry’s leading simulator supplier, Immersive Technologies. The acquisition includes a transportable UG360 simulator, three modular Conversion Kits® (equipment modules) and a virtual Custom Mine Site training environment.

The mining industry’s leading training simulator provider, Immersive Technologies, continues its industry-leading position, reaching a further significant milestone with the successful certification of its 700th participant in its unique simulator program ‘TrainerAdvantage’. TrainerAdvantage was launched by Immersive Technologies in March 2006 to support the growing demand for its Advanced Equipment (AE) Simulator. Canadian based education institute, Keyano College, has expanded the capacity of its mining operator training program with the acquisition of additional simulators from Immersive Technologies. Responding to direct industry requests for additional mining graduates and the forecasted requirement for over 1,000 new equipment operators, Keyano College took the proactive step to significantly increase its capacity to deliver comprehensive and effective equipment training programs utilising the world’s leading earthmoving training simulators.
